Night set-back
Night set-back is the lowering of the room temperature during the
night period, e.g. to 16°C from 23.00 h until 06.00 h in the
morning. This can be set via the day or week programme on the room
thermostat. Also thermostatic radiator valves with programming possibilities
are available on the market.
Night set-back will save energy due to the lower heat losses of the
dwelling during the night period. Generally it can be shown that 1°C
lowering of the overall room temperature will lead to 5 or more %
energy saving over a year, this can be achieved by a night set-back.
