Boiler information
Floor standing or wall hanged?
In terms of installation one can consider the wall hung and the floor
standing boilers.
Wall hung boilers are characterised by their short dimensions and
moderate power outputs. There are several types of these boilers
on the market that are designed to meet different needs. There are
boilers with hot water production only for heating and boilers that
also have sanitary hot water production. Among these, there are
boilers with instantaneous sanitary hot water production or with
hot water storage.
In general, floor standing boilers have a higher power output than
the wall hung boilers. Floor standing boilers often have cast iron
heat exchangers, which is also why they stand on the floor. They
are heavier and if correctly applied, the lifetime of the heat exchanger
can be higher with respect to other materials.
While some wall hung boilers are designed to be used in the "living"
parts of a house (even in kitchens), floor hung boilers are often
installed in cellars or adapted rooms due to their size and design.
As some floor standing boilers use forced air burners, they might
also be more noisy.
