What is a split system?
A split system is composed of two separate pipes:
- One bringing the combustion air from outside the house to the
boiler (the blue arrow on the figure above)
- One taking the combustion product from the boiler to the outside
(the red arrow on the figure above)
The pipes can be horizontal (through the wall) or vertical (through
the roof).
